Update:

Yesterday, with Claude's help, I was able to migrate one of my existing websites completely from Joomla 4 to Joomla 5, including the template, modules, etc. The website works without the compatibility plugin.
For the conversion, I uploaded an Akeeba backup, and Claude converted everything, tested it, and then created a new Akeeba backup. I was able to restore it successfully on a test server. As things stand, everything works perfectly and without any problems.

Ich habe mittlerweile ebenfalls sehr gute Erfahrungen mit KI-gestützten Migrationen gemacht, allerdings mit ChatGPT.

Gemeinsam haben wir bereits mehrere Joomla51-Templates, darunter auch Emani, erfolgreich für Joomla 6 modernisiert. Die Templates funktionieren inzwischen nativ unter Joomla 6, ohne dass das Plugin „Behaviour – Backward Compatibility 6“ aktiviert werden muss.

Dabei haben wir nicht nur veraltete Funktionen angepasst, sondern auch die Template-Struktur, die Backend-Einstellungen und verschiedene JavaScript-Funktionen überarbeitet.

Besonders interessant finde ich deinen Ansatz, gleich eine komplette Website inklusive Erweiterungen mithilfe von Claude zu migrieren.

Mich würde interessieren, welches Joomla51-Template du verwendest und ob du auch schon eine Migration direkt auf Joomla 6 in Betracht gezogen hast.

Ich denke, KI kann uns bei der langfristigen Pflege und Weiterentwicklung der Joomla51-Templates enorm helfen – gerade angesichts der fehlenden offiziellen Updates.

I've also had very positive experiences with AI-assisted migrations, although I've been using ChatGPT.

We've already successfully modernized several Joomla51 templates, including Emani, for Joomla 6. The templates now run natively on Joomla 6 without requiring the "Behaviour – Backward Compatibility 6" plugin to be enabled.

We didn't just replace outdated functions, but also updated the template structure, backend settings, and various JavaScript features.

I find your approach of migrating an entire website, including extensions, with the help of Claude particularly interesting.

I'd be curious to know which Joomla51 template you're using and whether you've also considered migrating directly to Joomla 6.

I believe AI can be extremely helpful in maintaining and improving Joomla51 templates in the long term, especially given the lack of official updates.

Ich habe mit Hilfe von Claude eine komplette Webseite mit dem Template J51 Enterprise von Joomla 3 auf Joomla 6 hochkonvertiert. Zwischenschritte (J4, J5) wurden von Claude komplett selbständig durchgeführt. Auch die installieren J51 Module wurden dabei migriert. Installierte Komponenten mit verfügbaren J6 Versionen habe ich der KI zur Verfügung gestellt.

Ich bin gerade dabei alle von mir gekauften J51 Templates und Module nach J6 zu migrieren.

With the help of Claude, I upgraded a complete website using the J51 Enterprise template from Joomla 3 to Joomla 6. Claude carried out the intermediate steps (J4, J5) entirely on its own. The installed J51 modules were migrated as well. I provided the AI with the installed components that have J6 versions available.

I'm now in the process of migrating all of the J51 templates and modules I've purchased to J6.

Danke für dieses Thema (Anfrage und Antworten). Auch ich war ein wenig beunruhigt, denn mit Natalie Joomla! 4 war ich schon auf einer veralteten Version und mit dem Umzug auf ein neueres Template konfrontiert – inklusive zig Stunden neuer Arbeit.

Dank euch habe ich (mit minimalen HTML- und CSS-Kenntnissen) auch KI (Mistral) Schritt für Schritt ausprobiert, und es hat alles perfekt funktioniert:
- Umstieg von Joomla 4 auf Joomla 5
- Template Natalie J4, Version 2.0.0
- Komponenten: VisForms, Akeeba Backup, DPCalendar

Auch bei den Server-Einstellungen, Domains, Subdomains usw. hat sie gute Arbeit geleistet.
