Unable to change logo on several templates

I tried to test changing logo for several templates (Kaylee, London) that I installed locally (XAMPP)

I went to the extensions -> styles menu, selected the desired style (J51_Kaylee - default in my case) and loaded the new logo by selecting the file in general tab -> logo image.

The new logo is not displayed, the original one is displayed instead.
I tried to clear the cache but got the same behaviour after this operation.
What am I missing ?
