Strange layout when adding module to sidebar in admin - Florence & Verona templates

I like to add a module to the admin of all my sites to show the System Dashboard on the left "menu" position. Most of the time this works great with Joomla51 templates, but in the case of Florence and Verona templates the layout looks really bad. See the attached screenshots to see what I mean. Is this something that can be fixed by updating the back end css?

Hello

Just to confirm that this is a template related issue, could you try enabling one of the default Joomla templates (Cassiopeia) and see if the issue still exists...
