Sophia template questions

Hi there!

Loving the Sophia template so far. :D

I do have a couple minor questions to do with the template on mobile devices. You'll need to log in.

Domain: missionsamburu.org
Login: removed
Password: removed

1. The login menu item on the footer menu is hanging off the right hand side of the page. This is true for mobile portrait and landscape, iPad portrait and landscape. But it's fine on the desktop. I cannot work out why this is?
2. On desktop, you can click on the parent menu items 'About' and 'Projects' and it will take you to a specific article, but on mobile, it will not let you click on them and go to the article. Is there any way around this?
3. The 'Get Involved' menu has no article associated with it, so it works fine on mobile. You can navigate to either sub-page from any page outside of 'Get Involved'. But once you are in one of the two sub-pages (Give or Pray), you can no longer go to the other page under the 'Get Involved' menu (ie you cannot go from Pray to Give). You have to navigate to a different page outside the menu, then back again. Do you have any idea why this might be?

Hi Tim

1. We have just updated the template, amending this issue.

2. A common issue so we have also updated the template mobile menu. The menu now allows for both linked and non linked parent items.

3. Have you since amended this issue? Presuming I understand you correctly, we can now navigate between 'Give' or 'Pray' without issue.

Thank you Ciaran. I am just backing up my site and will update the template. The article you linked seemed to indicate all the settings will be saved, just unsure of the custom CSS I enter into the Custom CSS fields in the template. Better to be safe than sorry. Thanks for the template update.

Hi Ciaran,

Unfortunately I think the problem has gotten worse for the Login link on the footer menu. It's even further to the right hand side. Now I'm getting a new menu at the very top of the template for both mobile and desktop and have lost the collapsible menu in the header for mobile.

What have I done wrong? Do I need to re-install all the add-on modules to fix this (like carousel etc?)

Could I ask you to do a full refresh of your browser (CTRL/CMD + F5) to ensure you are not loading any part of your site from cache. Checking your site on this end, the footer menu is been displayed correctly and we can not replicate the menu issue you describe (Chrome and FireFox).

Hi Ciaran,

Clearing the caches did fix the strange orange menu in the header and also aligned the footer menu, thank you. However, I cannot get the top menu dropdown to work on any mobile device. I've tried it on 3 different phones and an iPad tonight. I cleared the caches on all devices, and two of the devices had never been to that site before.

Can you please double check the top menu dropdown?

All pages. I cannot get the menu to work, except for some reason it worked for me just then once on my mobile (Samsung Galaxy S8 with Google Chrome), and now it does not work again any more. That was really strange, it's the first time I've seen it work and now it does not work anymore.

The little 3-bar icon highlights as though it recognises it is being pressed, but then will not display the menu. I have not been able to get it to work on the iPad, Galaxy S6 or Galaxy S9. It worked only once on the Galaxy S8 and now has gone back to not working.

I notice when I click on the 3-bar menu, the URL changes from missionsamburu.org to http://missionsamburu.org/#mobile-menu. This is consistent across the devices. Not sure if that is correct or not?

That menu does look the same, but I do not have any issues with it on my mobile devices. It works perfectly on all my devices. I notice that the pages on your test site all have 'index.php' in the URL whereas on my site, that doesn't appear. Is that part of URL rewrite perhaps?

I happened to have the menu work again randomly, and I noticed that the URL does NOT change when the menu works, the menu simply opens. When the URL changes with a #mobile-menu after it, the menu does not open.

Very strange indeed. Could I ask you to allow us access to your extensions manager so we can edit your template. Unfortunately, we are unable to replicate the issue on a local install of the template.

Hi Ciaran,

Yes, that seems to be working perfectly, thank you so much. Do you know why the template still moves left and right on mobile now that the menu is fixed and not extra wide? It does it on the Riley template too so it might just be the way the template works.

Great... thank you for the update.

The remaining issue appears to be related to the 'Rok Search' extension. To confirm could you try disabling this extension and see of the issue persists?
