In an earlier post you wrote that you are going to provide updates to your templates as soon as Joomla 4 is in Beta state. The latter is true now.
Can you give an estimate when an updated version of Skylar will be available!?

Hello

Difficult to say as there is over 600 issues open against the J4 codebase so still a rather unstable platform. The common belief is that the beta was released prematurely, certainly while there is a number of release-blocking issues (https://github.com/joomla/joomla-cms/pulls?q=is%3Apr+is%3Aopen+label%3A%22Release+Blocker%22). Regardless we are still working on both Joomla 4 itself and making our own templates compatible. We are unable to give an exact date. The Joomla 4 release dates are a forever moving target.

Hi Ciaran

I'm about to start a new website using your Skylar template. The project is not really urgent. I would like to get a suggestion from you how to proceed:

  1. Wait for a Skylar version for Joomla 4 and start with Joomla 4 Beta.
  2. Start with Joomla 3 and the current Skylar version; update to Joomla 4 after release versions are published.

Thank you and regards

Rolf

Hi Rolf

Personally I would continue with Joomla 3. There is no definite release date for Joomla 4 and considering the first alpha was almost 4 years ago and we are only now at beta, my guess is a J4 release in 2020 is unlikely.
