Hi Ciaran,

On the Riley template, viewed on a iPad / iPhone in landscape mode (Only in Safari) the menu and background keeps on flickering when scrolling.
It looks like the menu and background can not decide what to display until you stop scrolling.

Thanks, Joan

Hi Ciaran,

I have also the problem that the menu flickers while scrolling to the top of the page.
"It looks like the menu and background can not decide what to display until you stop scrolling." (only on top of the page)

The problem exists only with Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome (Desktop). No problem with Firefox and mobile browsers (Safari, Chrome).
And also no problem if I visit your demo page... I'm using Joomla 4.2.6 with PHP 8.1.

Thanks, Magi

Hi Magi

Does installing the latest download of the template resolve the issue?

Hi Ciaran,

no, unfortunately not. I have already the latest download from 07-Jan-2023.
I made a short video to show the problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=paGfUbQvyV0

Hi Magi

To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

.hornav > ul > li > ul,
.hornav > ul > li > ul > li > ul,
.hornav > ul > li > ul > li > ul > li > ul {
transform: translateY(0);
}

Hi Ciaran,

I tried it, but unfortunately that doesn't help.
Maybe a general problem with Joomla 4 (or Microsoft Edge/Google Chrome)?

Edit:
I tried your DemoInstaller (Joomla 4) without changing any of the default parameters and there it's the same problem. But there is no problem when I visit your demo (Joomla 3) with Edge/Chrome. So I think it's an general problem with Joomla 4.

Thank you for detailing

Instead, try adding the following code to the Custom CSS field in the parameters of your template. (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

.logo {
padding-block: 15px;
}

Hi Ciaran,

It works - no more flickering. :)

But the area with logo and menu is now smaller. So there is no longer a difference in the size of the area with menu and logo when scrolling. Normally the menu gets smaller as you scroll down.

Hi Magi

I have just created an update for this template which should resolve this issue for you. For details on updating your template may I suggest the following article.. https://joomla51.com/tutorials/joomla-basics/updating-your-joomla-template

You can remove the previously suggested CSS. :)
