Question about the imagehover gallery

Good Afternoon,
I'm new to Joomla51 and am working with the Hayley template.
When I try to use the "ImageHover" gallery, I find if I have eight images and eight columns, the final image wraps onto a second line.
I can eliminate this by having one additional column (i.e. 7 images, 8 columns or 5 images, 6 columns) but then there is a gap.
I've attached two screencaps to illustrate.
Can you please tell me what I am doing wrong?
