I made a website for a client which uses the Privilege template. It looks awesome but there's an issue with the menu on an iPad. The mainmenu shows correct, but the subitems don't open.

I found there are some issues with Joomla menu's and iOS7 maybe this has something to do with it?

Also, I'm a bit confused with regards to the 'hornav' menu. When I set it to 'Yes' in the template options, there's no menu at all, if I just use the standard Joomla menu it displays correct (at least on a PC). Is that supposed to happen?

The site where I'm testing the template.

Joomla-version: 3.20.

Hello

May I ask are you have the same issue with our template demo (http://demo.joomla51.com/0096/)?

Also are you having a similar issue with our more recent template demos as these use a slightly different menu system (http://demo.joomla51.com/0104/)?

Test on iPad2 with iOS 7.0.4.

Privilege template:
Home - works
Template Features - No dropdown, no link
Layout Options - link works, dropdown works
J!Stuff - doesn't work
Typography - link works

PianoForte:
Home - works
Template features - no link, no dropdown
Layout Options - link works, dropdown works
J!Stuff - doesn't work
Example Styles - link works, dropdown works
Typopgraphy - link works

Overall on both templates: Dropdown is difficult to get, you need to touch the menu item several times. If I turn the iPad in portrait mode, the mobile menu appears, when I switch back to landscape the dropdown comes down inmediatly after touching the item.

Thank you

To get to the bottom of this we are gonna have to get our hands on a device running iOS7 which we hope to do so tomorrow. As you rightly pointed out it appears to be a common problem across the Joomla community with currently no obvious solution. If you could have a little patience with us we would hope to find a solution over the next few days.

Regarding the hornav menu, if the 'Convert to Module Position (hornav)' field is set to the default no, it will display the menu selected in the 'Select Hornav menu' field. If set to yes then it will create a module position called 'hornav' in the same area. You will then need to create a menu module for this position to display the menu (Extensions -> Module Manager -> New -> Menu).

Thanks Ciarán for your fast replies.

I just had to move the website to 'live', so here's the new link to the site.

Hello

Just getting back to you regarding this issue with your dropdown menu. Could I ask you to extract the following in to your templates js folder (../templates/j51_privilege/js) replacing the original dropdown.js. Hopefully this should resolve the issue.

Thanks for looking into this. I already replaced the file, now I have to wait until tonight to test it on the iPad.
