Hi there - hopefully this is my last post, at least for a long while....

I have a couple of layout issues:

[ol]
[li]there is little space between headers and content in both articles and modules[/li]
[li]there is little space between one article or module and the next[/li]
[li]on some pages the layout is wider than the background (I did enlarge the background but it seems to have extended to the left while the content juts to the right)[/li]
[/ol]

I know these are relatively minor in the bigger scheme of things, but I'm something of a perfectionist so I'd really appreciate your assistance to resolve them. I've attached a file to simplify things, or you could see what I mean at: http://classicromancerevival.com/library/user-item/506-judah-raine/1-still-running.

I have in the meantime added line spaces between articles, etc, but it becomes a pain to remember to do this, and when the share buttons display this is irrelevant.

Many thanks.

Hi Jude

The issue appears to be related to your table widths. Is there a reason why you have chosen to use tables rather than divs? It is usually considered good practice to avoid using tables where possible.

Would you have a URL to an example of the spaces between your modules? Would you like to remove this spacing?

Hi there, thanks for responding on a weekend, I appreciate it - I'm working round the clock to have this ready to launch by tomorrow :woohoo:

The table in the article display you saw is one I have used for the Cobalt template - previously used and so I saw no reason to change it at the time, though I will admit it seems to be ignoring specified table widths. Sigh. I have no idea how to use the divs to create columns and rows like tables - lol, I seem to be doing more learning than doing.

Having said that, I have Jomsocial on the site, and I'm fairly sure they work with divs not tables, and on their frontpage the display is exactly the same. I'm confused. You can see it: http://classicromancerevival.com/crrysalisatcrr. If I look with Firebug it indicates this as "content_full". If I look at the background, it's main_holder, which sits to the left while the content_full sits to the right.

As far as the modules and articles go I really don't want to go and delete the line breaks :silly: If you look at http://classicromancerevival.com though you will see just below the first article there is a row of share links. The next article title appears just below that with no spacing. As an example:

Article/Module Title
Content
Article/Module Title
Content

I have had to do the following:

Article/Module Title
Linebreak
Content
linebreak
linebreak
linebreak
Article/Module Title
Linebreak
Content
linebreak
linebreak
linebreak

That works, but it's a pain and I often forget when adding the content. Now, with the share links automagically added they make no allowance for this additional space.

Also, which I didn't mention before as I have just noticed it - I set up a custom module which requires bullets - the bullets don't show. Not sure if I'm missing something? You can see it (top module on right) on http://classicromancerevival.com/library-submission

Thanks!
Jude

Hi Jude

For the wrapper issue could you try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

#content_full {
float: none;
margin-top: -5px;
}

To add some spacing between your articles try also adding the following...

.items-row {
padding-top: 30px;
}

It appears we will need access to view your bullet issue. Details can be sent to info@joomla51.com.

Try changing the added CSS to the following which should do the trick...

#content_full {
float: none;
margin-top: -10px;
}
