Novation - How to add module position to top right

I'm working with the Novation template. Can you explain how to add a module position to the right of the logo? I would like to put custom social media icons there and possibly an additional module on the far right. (http://clearimagegraphics.net/NMP/)

May I suggest the following post which details how to add a new module position in the header area of a template..

In the case of our Novation template the markup will be added after <div id ="header" class="block_holder"> (Line 1) in the templates header.php (../templates/j51_oxygen/php/layouts/header.php)
