I know you are probably really busy upgrading templates to Joomla 4 but it would be great to see some new templates some time soon.

Any idea when that might be?

Cheers, and keep up the excellent service.

Hi Paul

Yes we do certainly intend to be back releasing templates as soon as possible. Our focus for now however is to update our current catalogue to the latest Joomla platform. Unfortunately, this is taking us a little longer than we initially anticipated due to the extra work involved in updating older templates.

For a long time I didn't want to say anything about this topic, because I thought I might be the only one missing new templates.

First of all: I really really appreciate that you are willing to update ALL of your templates to a Joomla4 version. But I don't think that would have been really necessary and I'm sure most of your customers would have understood that.

Lets see the facts:
a lot of the templates are 5 years old and older.
5 years in internet business is a long time and a lot changes in 5 years. This also applies to the way you programme your templates and a lot of the functionality within the templates has changed as well.

Its no rocket science to update a website that is running with an older J51 template to a newer one.
And frankly, a website designed 5 or more years ago is not up to date. For all of them, this would have been an opportunity to modernise older websites.
I also know that many of the template buyers are not a web agency or a web designer, but private people creating websites for themselves or friends.

But the J51 templates have all the same structure in 98%. So if one of your customer is able to migrate a website from J3 to J4 then he should also be able to install a newer J51 template, copy the custom.css and the parameters from the old site with the effort to get a newer template with more features and nearer to current programming. And let's be honest, the templates are not really expensive and we even get a discount for a J4 version.

I'm pretty sure 99% of your customers would have understood this if you had skipped the oldest 20 templates for the benefit of all of us to get new templates and features.

It may be that I am looking at this from the wrong angle, in which case I apologise.

Someone who has only built one website with a Nocturne or Kindle template may find my argumentation stupid, but if you consider that you can build a website with a more modern template and programming, then a few hours of extra work is a good deal.

I personally hope that after all the reprogramming of very, very old templates, you still have the motivation to build new templates and new features.

Just my 50 cents.

Regards
Oliver
