Hi there,

the modul menu in the sidecolumn has no flipout.

The modul menu in hornav works with moomenu fine.

What can I do to see the subkategories (submenues) in the sidecolumn not in the static way?

Thanks

Robert

Hi Robert

There is a number of accordion styled menu modules that you may be able to use. Check out http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions/structure-a-navigation/menu-systems/accordion-menus for an alternative to Joomlas default menu module.

Hi Ciaran,

thank you for answering quickly.

I`ve seen there are many Drop & Tab Menus from other developers and also from Joomla.

But hasn`t the Neptune Template this menu item included?

On the Demo Page I can see this item. But I can`t find it anywhere in the Backend.

By the way. I`m an absolutly newbee and my standard language is german. Sorry for my bad spelling.

Thanks
Robert

I may be misunderstanding your intention. Whcih part of our template demo do you wish to replicate?

Maybe I explained it to confus. Sorry.

For a better understandig I send you the attachement.

Here you can see in the Main Menu:

Klick on Parameters, no drop down, cause there are no submenus
Klick on Template Styles, drop down, cause there are more submenus.

This item didn`t function in my installation.

I can`t drop down anything and roll it off. There is just a button in the backend, with yes or no to show. That`s all.

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will set up your sidecolumn menu for you. Just mention this post in your email.

Thank you very much for the suggestion.

But first I have to create my website, then I have to find a Hoster and after all I have to go online.

It`s a long way to Babylon.....!

I`ll come back later to your suggestion.

Many thanks and best regards.

Hello Cirian,

yesterday I was lost in the depth of the net.

I told you, that I`m a newbee. That`s half the truth. I read the book Joomla! 1.6 for beginners and I have my first operating-experiences with css.

I guess, that my problem with the submenus in the sidecolumn depends on the less settings opportunities at "modul:menue".

The "Basicoptions" have only the opportunities "show subcategories: yes or no".
Or can I achieve it by making some changes at "advanced options"?

Also did I read from another user, to edit the template.css as followed:

ul#mainlevel-nav {
text-decoration: none;
list-style: none;
padding:0;
margin: 12px 18px 0 0;
float:right;

and so on ...........

rename to

ul.menu-nav {
text-decoration: none;
list-style: none;
padding:0;
margin: 12px 18px 0 0;
float:right;

and so on ...........

This is just an example for another template, not the Neptune template.

If this is the case, please tell, how to fix it by editing the template.css.

Best regards from Germany

Hi Robert

If you simply wish to have the sub menu items the same as that of our demo, there shouldn't be any reason to change the CSS. Find attached a pdf of some screenshots of how the menu is set up in our demo.
