Hi Ciaran,
I asked before buying the template whether it might be possible to move the top (horizontal) menu down farther in the template - and you said likely - and my clients would like to do that. Could you tell me how/if I can move the top menu to below the logo, i.e. approximately in the "top1" module position.
I'm not sure where the Breadcrumbs and the Search box should go - perhaps it would be best to leave them where they are, placing the menu just below them, if possible.
Thank you!
Tami

Hi Tami

Open your templates header.php (../templates/j51_metropolis/php/layouts/header.php) and located the following...

<div class="hornavmenu">
<?php if($this->params->get('hornavPosition') == '1') : ?>
<div id="hornav">
<jdoc:include type="modules" name="hornav" />
</div>
<?php else : ?>
<div id="hornav">
<?php echo $hornav; ?>
</div>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($search_onoff == "1") : ?>
<div id="search">
<?php echo $search; ?>
</div>
<?php endif; ?>

<div id="socialmedia">
<ul id="navigation">
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_rssfeed_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_rssfeed"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_rssfeed'); ?>" title="RSS Feed" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_twitter_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_twitter"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_twitter'); ?>" title="Twitter" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_facebook_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_facebook"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_facebook'); ?>" title="Facebook" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_myspace_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_myspace"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_myspace'); ?>" title="MySpace" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_blogger_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_blogger"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_blogger'); ?>" title="Blogger" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_stumble_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_stumble"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_stumble'); ?>" title="Youtube" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_google_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_google"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_google'); ?>" title="Google" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_flickr_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_flickr"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_flickr'); ?>" title="Flickr" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
<?php if($this->params->get('nav_linkedin_sw') == '1') : ?>
<li class="nav_linkedin"><a href="/<?php echo $this->params->get('nav_linkedin'); ?>" title="LinkedIn" target="_blank"></a></li>
<?php endif; ?>
</ul>
</div>
</div>

Cut and paste this to just before the following at the end of the same file...

<div class="clear"></div>
</div>

That should do it.

Hi Ciaran,
That didn't quite work.
I did the cut&paste in the header.php file, and what happened was - the top menu is still at the top, but now the logo-banner section has moved up partly under the top menu.
Is there something else I could try? or perhaps I didn't do the cut&paste correctly...
I tried to attach the header.php file but it is not allowed...
thanks,
Tami

Hi Tami

Could you also try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters..

.hornavmenu {top: 135px;}
