I am wanting to move from one Joomla 51 template to a new one (you gotta quit making such cool new ones!). I usually use the demo installer as a starting point to create a new site but I am hoping there might be a step by step I can use to migrate my current content into a new template without having to copy paste everything over.
I'm sure there is a relatively easy way to do this but I'm probably not able to wrap my head around it. I can just install the template and try to duplicate the look of the demo or I could do a demo installer setup and then migrate the content back in. Either way seems like it might be time consuming. Is there a setup guide for creating the demo install "look" from scratch for the templates?

Hello

Your best option would be to simply install your new template to your current Joomla installation and then enable it via your Template Manager. With the exception of some of the very old template releases, all our templates use the same naming for the module positions. Once you have enabled the new template all of your original content, modules etc should be still displayed in their original positions.
