I am using Metropolis to play with a J 3.0 version of a website I made in 2.5 for a school. I think it is a great template and I am slowly finding out how to modify CSS etc to my taste.
The menus work fine on a laptop. On an ipad, if Responsive Options >> Responsive Layout is set to Yes, no menus appear. If Responsive Layout is set to No the Main Menu and the drop downs appear fine but the page does not resize automatically.
What might happen on a smartphone I do not know - I have a £5.00 Nokia!
What am I doing wrong?
site in J 3.0 is cepsj3test.cloudaccess.net

Thank you

As your top menu background colour was set to white the text of the mobile navigation was not visible as by default it is also white. I amended this by adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...
.js .selectnav {
color:#000000;
}
Where #000000 is your new text colour.

The desktop menu has to be replaced by the dropdown menu on mobile devices as your menu items will not fit in the limited space available on the smaller screen sizes.

Long time ago!
I do get the drop down menu OK but on iPad and mobile it shows as "Home" with no hint to user that tapping on that brings up the menu. Is there a way to replace "Home" with "Tap here for menus"?
Any guidance appreciated.

Hello

May I suggest updating your template to the latest download (http://joomla51.com/tutorials/item/updating-your-template). You can then edit your menu text as detailed here... https://www.joomla51.com/tutorials/item/editing-the-mobile-menu-title-menu

Thanks for the prompt reply.
Problem - when I go to My Downloads I get offered J51 - Classic rather than the Metropolis which I purchased and use.
Am I doing something silly?

Hello

Your mobile menu should be now appearing on tablet devices.

Presuming I understand you correctly and you wish your dropdown menu to be black, try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

#hornav ul ul {
background-color: black;
}
#hornav ul ul li a {
color: #ffffff !important;
}

iPad now doing what I wanted. Thanks.
One last problem - I have modules in sidecol-b: Custom HTML, Login and CoalaWeb Traffic.
All three now have white font instead of black. I cannot see how to change that back to black.
Sorry to be such a nuisance!

Hello

Have you since found a solution to this issue? Your sidecolumn modules appear to be now displaying white text?

Sorry - just about to e-mail to tell you I worked out where to put in some custom CSS.
Just one last thing - can you point me to where I can modify (turn the text to black and bold) the drop down menus.
Thanks for all your help. It is a great service!

Hello

No. worries. To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

#hornav ul ul li a {
color: black !important;
font-weight: bold;
}
