I have images running in my slideshow in the showcase position, what i want to be able to do is overlay an html5 animation running in a module on top (centered) of the slideshow.

I have read the forum article about putting an extra module in the header but have got lost trying this in the showcase area

Any suggestions are very welcome

Hi Nigel

Have you considered using one of the many layer slideshows available for this purpose? An example would be something like.. http://extensions.joomla.org/extension/layer-slider

In most cases they are paid downloads however you would save yourself a lot of time and have a lot more options available.

What issues are you having when creating your module position in the slideshow area?

Hi,

i have a whole host of those modules but they do not stretch across the page even if I set them to 100%, they only seem to to fit the template width.

I am using Hype pro to make HTML5 animations and wanted to overlay them on the showcase, I have copied the header module (tip to add a module) and changed what i thought I should chagge but I get nowhere.

cheers

Hi Nigel

Your slideshow extension not extending the full width of your browser would be down to your template rather than the extension iteself. The J51 Slideshow module which in most cases includes 100% width option edits the template styling when this option is selected. To ensure your showcase module positions extends to the full width of your browser window try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters..

#container_slideshow .wrapper960 {
width: 100% !important;
}

Thats great thanks, can you advise me about making a module that I can place centrally over the showcase module, I can get far greater control for my animations using Hype whilst using the 100% width of the showcase for my background image

thanks

Hi Nigel

You could what is suggested in this article (http://www.joomla51.com/tutorials/item/creating-a-new-module-position-in-the-header-area-of-your-template) however rather placing the code after the #header div you will be placing is after the following

<div class="showcase">
