Not sure if this is a Joomla issue or template issue. I'm talking about iphone and ipad here. Single menu item opens fine. Submenus open fine. Most of my parent menu items are Menu Heading type so designed to be unresponsive. But the parent menu items linked to articles when clicked open the submenu item list but the linked article doesn't open. I have set the responsive menu breakpoint to 900 px. The "standard" menu opens up on my ipad in landscape but has the same problem.

On a PC I do not have this problem.

A fix would be to make all parent menu items Heading Type. But hope you have a better idea?

Many thanks!

I have determined that the Slick Nav Menu doesn't work in IOS with a parent menu item in mobile phone or ipad in portrait mode. One touch only opens the submenu a second touch simply closes the submenu.

I did find on an ipad in landscape mode which does not show the Slick Nav type menu the parent menu item does work, but only with a second touch. The first touch opens the submenu, the second touch closes the submenu but opens the article. So it kind of half works.

Thank you Ciaran,

I found the same js slick nav code in Magnolia. Setting allowParentlinks to true does allow the parent menu to open an article so problem solved in principle.

But the touch behaviour is odd. Just a slight touch opens menu items elsewhere but this requires a touch followed by a touch and hold for it to happen and it opens in a new tab.

I don't like the way its different from other menu items so I will make the parent menu items headers only. This apparently is the way its intended to work by default. It does have an advantage I can appreciate now as it holds the submenu open and remains open after returning from a sub-menu article - which is quite convenient.

Thanks for the information. Much appreciated
