As mentioned in my title, the links created by J51_LayerSlideshow have non-descriptive anchor text. This is not good for SEO but I see no way to add this info to the module. It would be great if you could update the module to include this. Is this possible? See the main header slideshow on this site and the attached screen shot from SEM Rush.

Hi Vince

Please find attached an update for the LayerSlideshow module which adds aria labels to all anchors within the module. Note that if your template has an override for this module, you may need to remove it (backup first :) ) for these changes to take effect.

I installed the update but it broke the layout. I am using Joomla 3.10.8 if that matters.

Hello

The previously attached update is for Joomla 4 only. Please find attached the Joomla 3 version with the update applied.

Thank you

There is a SellaciousViewCartAIO class that is throwing errors in your console that appears to be affecting the loading of your page. Disabling all related plugins does resolve the issue however I have re-enabled as I assume that these are required?

Hmmm that is not necessary on the home page, only on the /shop pages. Is there a way to disable a plugin on certain pages?

Hello

It is not possible with just core Joomla however there may be a 3rd party extension which allows.

I would suggest first enabling the slideshow module and then disabling each of the Sellacious plugins until you find the culprit. There may be some settings within that can help resolve the issue or you may find the particular plugin is not required.

I tried the update on another site and it broke the layout:
https://artglassandmetal.com/

I had to revert to the old version. What is causing this?

Hello

As there is an override for the LayerSlideshow module within the template, to apply this change the override must be updated rather than the module itself as this override is controlling the frontend output. May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and I will try updating your override for you. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

By the way I tried to add the above info in a separate attachment, but your system would not accept .rtf, .doc, .pdf, or .txt files. So what does it accept then...? ;-)

Hi Vince

We are struggling to work with your site as you appear to have a number of extensions caching your site state. Could I ask you to temporarily disable all caching on your site and we will have another look.

Go ahead and disable Litespeed Cache and JCH Optimize. I can turn them back on when you are done.

Thanks

First off thanks for the fix on the artglassandmetal site. I have another site that uses the same module and has the same problem, can you have a look and find a fix? The module (Homepage - Slideshow) is currently disabled by the way.

Notes on admin access are here: REMOVED

Please let me know as soon as you have successfully accessed the above login info so that I can delete the linked file. Once again I tried including this info as an attachment, but your attachment function does not seem work.

As on the other site, to see your changes you may need to disable JCH Optimize while working on it.

Thanks in advance,
Vince

Hi Vince

To replicate these changes from your previous site, copy the ../templates/[YourTemplate]/html/mod_j51layerslieshow folder from your previous site to the corresponding folder on your new site.

Thanks, that makes sense. Unfortunately the layout is still not correct after following your advice. I also updated the module from v1.0 to v1.1.1 but still the layout is not correct. See the attached screen shot. Can you login and have a look please?

Thanks,
Vince

For security reasons it looks like access details have been removed from your previous post.
