joomla not functioning after install of template

Hi
i have done a fresh install of joomla 2.5.9 and installed your sample data and sql file to install novation template
now the initial look of the site looks like your sample page but i have a big issue that i hope u can solve
the icons in joomla that say save / close / save & close dont work
so therefore i cant change any information on the site or change the login details

hi i think i sorted it
for some reason it cant like google chrome i started firefox up and everything works fine in firefox and internet explorer
