ji51_kinvara Google fonts not loading in Edge

Hi

In Kinvara Template I noticed thate the Edge browser does not load Google fonts on first page load. In many cases reloading the page helps to load Gggole font.

I noticed that in inc/head.php there is no protocol:



echo '<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="//fonts.googleapis.com/css?family='.$v.':200,400,600&subset='.$font_subset.'" /> ';


So I did add https there. But it does not solve the problem.

Clear Cache and deleting Cookies does not help either.

Only happens with Edge (I use 42.17134.1.0.)
A friend can reproduce the problem as well using Edge.
Joomla is 3.9.

Hi Patrick

Strangely we are unable to replicate this issue. The Lato font loads without issue on the first paint in MS Edge. Have you tried clearing your browser cache?

Note there is no need for a protocol when calling the google font. Adding one means the font will only load with the defined protocol (HTTPS).

Hi Ciaran

Yes, Browser Cache cleared but the problem remains. The first page load loads the font correctly. But if you click on any subpage after, then the font gets lost and Times is loaded. Sometimes it happens after third click on any subpage.

Really strange...

I removed https form header.php, thanks for the hint.
