Hi Ciaran

I created a webform with a field of the type «textarea». Its settings are rows=«5». Nevertheless, only one single row is displayed.
See URL. The field caption is «Nachricht / Bemerkungen».
With «Protostar» it works, so the webform component seems to be ok.

Hi Chris

To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

textarea {

    height: auto;

}
