Hi

how do i change the logo area background color to black and still have the logo displaying as an image?

see screen capture. i marked the area im referring to with a red x

Hello

Your only option is to edit the templates header.jpg (http://demo.joomla51.com/0079/templates/j51_revelation/images/style1/header.jpg) directly, using your graphics editor (Photoshop) to change the indicated areas to black. You will find this image located at ../templates/j51_revelation/images/style1/header.jpg from the root of your Joomla installation.
