Hello Ciaran,

On my clients testsite there is an issue with the following:

  • the sidecolumn-b modules don't stack on mobile (After component)
  • the pagination beneath the 'Latest News' title-overview on the homepage isn't responsive
  • the background-color of the Base (#d8e0d3) is gone/doesn't work on pages with small articles (i.e. this blog page)

I've upgraded this site to Joomla 4 and installed the new Joomla 4 Grace template.
Can you please have a look?
Thanks!
Greetings, Ton

Hi Ton

1. / 2. Updating your template to the latest download should resolve this issue for you. For details on updating your template may I suggest the following article.. https://joomla51.com/tutorials/joomla-basics/updating-your-joomla-template

If the issue persists after updating, may I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

3. To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

.content_main {
z-index: 1;
}
#container_base {
position: relative;
}

Hello Ciaran,

Thanks for the update!
Almost all things are solved :-)

The issue of the sidecolumn-b that doesn't stack on mobile after component still persists. I will send the login credentials by email.

The issue with the pagination overview (on mobile) is solved but the text 'Pagina 1 van 32' (homepage) is next to the pagination on the right.
On this page with the news overview the text 'Pagina 1 van 9' is at the bottom of the pagination.
I like this more but can this also be the same on the homepage?

Thanks!

Hi Ton

1. Would you have a URL directly to an example where this issue is still present?

2. To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

.com-content-category-blog__navigation {
flex-direction: column;
}
.com-content-category-blog__counter {
margin-left: 0 !important;
}

Hi Ton

Have you added any other custom CSS that may affect your side column module?

Hello Ciaran,

Not to my knowledge.
What I did is upgrade this site from Joomla 3 into this site Joomla 4.
As you can see in the Joomla 3 site that the sidecolumn on mobile is visible beneath the maincontent.

Hi Ton

There appears to be some CSS applied that is currently hiding the side column modules on smaller screens? Maybe this option is set using the option available within the Responsive Options tab of your template settings?

Hello Ciaran,
When I look into the Responsive CSS of the template, there is nothing in it.
Also the setting 'Hide Sidecolumn-b Modules' is set to No.
So I can't find anything what may be the cause of this.

Hi Ton

To force an override of the CSS, try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your template settings..

.sidecol_b {
display: block !important;
}

Hello Ciaran,

This helps to show the content on mobile for sidecol_b.
Only thing is that it's right beneath the article content and before the other modules.
It would be nice if the modules in sidecol_b were at the bottom of this.
Thanks!

Hi Ton

Sorry to say this option is not possible with CSS alone as it would require the module to be moved within the DOM.

Oké, that's a pitty but thanks!
In the Joomla 3 template it worked fine.
Is this the same thing with all the templates that are going to a Joomla 4 version?

Hi Ton

I don't believe this option could have been available with the Joomla 3 version of the template as they both have the same DOM structure. Would you have a URL to an example where this is allowed?

Hello Ciaran,

I see you are right.
I was confused (long thread) and I meant that the sidecol_b automatically stack on mobile in the J3 site, sorry.
That is the only thing but as you say the sidecol_b modules come before the bottom modules on mobile.
Thanks!
