Hi Ciaran

I noticed on your website that some of your extensions and the two newest templates carry J5 and J6 tags. What exactly does this mean: Will they run under J5 and/or under J6 without the respective compatibility plugin enabled?

Next question: At what date do you plan to have Skylar ready in a J5-native version?

Best regards,
Rolf

Hi Rolf

Templates currently marked for Joomla 6 will require the compatibility plugin to be enabled to run correctly. The plugin is not required to run these template on Joomla 5.

Sorry to say, I don't have a date on when the Skylar template will be available for Joomla 6. We hope to have it available prior to the official Joomla 6 release.

Hi Ciaran

Your answer is helpful, but not comprehensive:

  • I understand that SKYLAR is going to be J5-native by -let's say- October 2025. Therefore, it should work under J6 with the J6 version of the compatibility plugin.
  • But what about the extensions delivered with the template? Will they be J5-native as well?

Best regards
Rolf

Hi Rolf

Yes all template bundled modules will match compatibility with the template itself. So a template is J5 native, it's bundled modules will also be J5 native.
