Hi, tried finding some answers to these initial issues but no luck, sorry if they have been answered before and if so please point me in the right direction for an answer...

1. I have installed the demo package and on the home page, and also on your online demo there seems to be an issue in the HORNAV module, see image attached, this does not seem to appear in all versions of the template just those using the default?

2. I can probably figure this other issue out in time but maybe you can point me in the right direction and save me the pain :-) I am using a 3 level dropdown menu at the top which displays correctly on some pages but not others again appears to be the default version, for example the home page will only go to the 2nd level. I thought it would be a setting in the mainmenu module but this is common to all pages, so not sure where to look or why this is happening?

I am wondering if installing the demo may have been the wrong way to learn this template and if a clean instal with no demo data would have been better, what are your thoughts? I would say I am an intermediate Joomla user although this is my first attack at V3 :dry:

I can PM you my demo site if required.

Look forward to hearing from you soon....

Hi Kevin

1. To try and replicate this issue may I ask what device and browser (inc. version) you are using?

2. May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

I think using the demo installer can definitely help. I would recommend deleting some of the elements of the demo content to simply things in particular the modules used on the module positions page as there is quiet a lot of them and it can make it difficult to locate the remaining modules.

Tx for the quick reply Ciarán

1. iMac running Mavericks this short top issue is in all browsers Chrome, FireFox and Safari only when browser window expands to full screen dimensions. Reduce the window size and it disappears, however some other assigned Renovate templates do not have this issue, maybe a module is causing it on the default?

This issue is also on the demo on your web site...

2. I don't mind sending you access details, but if possible could you tell me where to look, its just that I sometimes find the only way to learn is to do it yourself. Joomlart have a nasty habit of going in, making fixes and not telling you what they have done. Then when there is a template upgrade the issue appears again! :)

If this is possible let me know otherwise I will arrange an access for you...?

Cheers KEVIN

Hi Kevin

1. That is strange as we are unable to replicate this issue. May I ask is the issue present here... http://demo.joomla51.com/0105/index.php/j-stuff/singlearticle ?

This page uses the same template style as the homepage so if the issue still exists it would indicate and issue related to the style settings. Also what screen resolution are you using?

2. One thing you could check is that the 'End Level' field in your menu modules parameters is set to all? If you could email us a URL to an example of your menu with may be able to suggest a solution by looking at your source code.

Hi

1. The issue is not on the link you sent, but if I click the home link then then it returns to been short and not spanning the full window...

Checking the CSS via Chrome "inspect element" seems to show some different width setting for various items contained in the head, could this be anything to do with it?

2. This is what I was looking for but don't seem to be able to find a module for the mainmenu, weird how some items it is fine and others it will not display the 3rd level...

Just messing about but at the moment it is online here http://www.medboat.com/mb2013/

Hello

1. Could you try disabling each of the GridGallery and Icons modules and see if this resolves the issue?

2. My fault. I forgot that this option is not available to you by default. You could try convert the top menu area to a module position (Extensions -> Template Manager -> Options -> Menu) and then create a menu module setting it to the hornav module position and and setting the Menu Tag ID field to moomenu.

Failing that we may have to ask you to set us up with administration access. We would be happy to explain any changes made.

Okay...

1. Disabled the modules suggested individually and together without change the menu still does not expand to a large screen width.

So I persevered and by a process of elimination found that it is the J51_Slideshow (Homepage) mudule that is causing it, when disabled the top expands correctly. Tried setting the slideshow to fixed width but still causes the issue unless disabled...

2. Oh that is a problem I really need a 3rd level menu, I would have preferred a split menu like on my original site http://www.medboat.com but thought this would at least give me a 3rd level?

I understand what you are saying about having to create a module for the menu, but why does the 3rd level work on some pages and not others, that bit I do not understand?

Tx for your help on this, at least getting someone to reply is a big plus these days so I would like to continue with this project rather than find another template...

Hi Kevin

Yes we had logged in this morning but found nothing wrong with your setup so we continued to work locally to try and resolve these issues.

1. We have added the following to the CSS of your template which we are hoping will resolve this issue?..

#container_header {
width: 100%;
}

2. This turns out to be a conflict between the GridGallery module and the dropdown menu which we hadn't been aware of. Specifically with the Masonry script used with this gallery. The masonry script is what creates the grid when images are of different heights as seen on the template demo. Without this script images will appear in a straight lines, not an issue if you intend to use images of equal heights?

As a long term solution we are looking to replace the dropdown menu with CSS3 animations rather than using javascript to avoid such conflicts however this will take a couple of days for us to develop.

If you intend to use the GridGallery with images of equal heights let me know and I will disable the masonry script for you on your module.

Tx for the prompt rely again, I will certainly be using more of your templates as you respond whereas others don't seem to :-)

Anyway have you made that change to the CSS as I still see the same issue on the homepage and the element inspector still seems to show a width of 1920px?

Yes I plan on using the grid gallery on the homepage to showcase certain boats for charter... I have enough work to do so can wait for a solution, just keep me posted...

Just thinking about this first issue.. in case the above does not resolve the issue I just want to ask a couple of quick questions..

What screen resolution is your device? This is important as it is the screen resolution which triggers the CSS media queries which is where I believe the issue to lie.

Is the issue only present when the 'Responsive Layout' is turned on/off or with both?

Thank you for your patience regarding this issue.

Morning!

It's still the same with regards to the menu block not expanding across the width of the screen.

If the slideshow module is disabled then it works fine, as per images attached.

When it does span all the way across there still seems to be an odd dark background still appearing in the place where it previously fell short, not sure if this makes sense but have marked it on the images.

I am using a 27" iMac running, not sure what its standard display resolution is but this problem occurs when not at full screen size.

Hopefully the grid gallery/3rd level menu can also be sorted next week as I begin work on other elements.

Turning responsive on/off in combination with slideshow module on/off makes no difference to the issue.

Tx also for your patience and commitment to provide a solution...

Hi Kevin

Select System Preferences from the Apple Menu, and then click on Displays. A window will appear with your current resolution highlighted (eg. 1920 x 1680)

Thank you

Could you try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters..

#container_header {
max-width: none !important;
}

Hi Kevin

I am unable to see the above CSS in your website source. Have you since removed it from your Custom CSS?

Testing locally here and it works fine. Could I ask you place the CSS back in to the Custom CSS field.
