I just read the Tutorials on Joomla51 Extensions and am excited to pop some images into these modules in my site. However, I'm not sure where to even start as far as how to determine the correct image size for these modules, as it appears from the tutorials that getting the size right before upload is pretty important for the modules to work properly.

I am really just wanting to replicate the sizes and looks of the demos for each of my sites, as follows:

1. ImageLInkHovr - I want to use in Grafik for 4 grey-backgrounded boxes defining 4 major purposes for my site, counselinglibrary.org. You have your 4 boxes at the bottom of the page, I have some "placeholder" top modules with text right now marking the spot. I'd really like mine to function almost identical to yours as far as size. Suggestions?

2. Slideshow - I want to use this in Renovate on the home page, as you do, with 3 scrolling images, on morninglightmusic.org. This is a much newer site than the first - I wanted to plug in the slideshow images first (after menu construction) so I can set colors etc. to fit the images. Again, I really want to have mine function exactly like your demo in terms of size and function - just different images. But need guidance on the sizing to make that work. :)

Hi Carrie

1. The 4 images near the base of Grafik demo homepage is using a single instance of the GridGallery module which you will find included with your template (../mod_j51gridgallery.zip). Following is a screenshot of the 'General Settings' tab for this module used on the Grafik template demo...

2. Images used for the slideshow of our template demo are as follows (1100px * 400px)..

http://demo.joomla51.com/0111/images/slideshow/slide2.png

With the settings looking like the following...

Yay... This is perfect info... Thank you!

So... I'm assuming you created those .png slides in something like Photoshop?

Seeing the exact settings is really helpful. It might be useful to include info like this on a tutorial. It's really helpful for a newbie like me to see "These settings translate into this look."

Looking at these settings more carefully, I have some followup questions:

In "Grafik":
1) What do the "Tab" and "Mod" settings (portrait and landscape refer to?
2) It appears all 4 images are the same size. Where do you select them, and their order?
3) Animate on Scroll class - Set to "FadeInUp" - are there other "scroll classes," and if so, where are they found?

In "Renovate":
1) What is "transition duration" and "slide interval" and how does one determine these settings?
2) It looks like there's an "image directory" referred to here. Where is that set up? Does Grafik work the same, identifying a certain image directory with various images to plug in? Is there a specific limit of images that can be set into a slideshow? The default seems to be 3 - is this variable, or no?

In general, on these pages for the site and the modules where there's so many parameters to customize, it really would be helpful to see some sort of chart or tutorial page defining the terms and describing the use of each of the parameters. The beauty of these templates is their customizability - but without such definitions it can all feel a little overwhelming to know where to even start. Thanks again for sending the settings - that is a huge help.

Hi Carrie

Yes your slideshow images can be created using Photoshop.

Grafik (GrindGallery module)...
1. These particular fields in your GridGallery module allow you to set alternative image sizes for the different screen sizes. with 'Tab' standing for 'Tablet' and 'Mob' standing for 'Mobile'.
2. Images can be setting using the corresponding tabs in the modules settings (eg. Image1 Image2, Image3 etc.). Images will display in the same order.
3. For a list of all the animate classes check out.. http://demo.joomla51.com/0111/index.php/features/animate-on-scroll

Renovate (Slideshow Module)...
1. 'Transition Duration' is the length of the transition in miliseconds (1000 = 1 sec). 'Slide Interval' is the interval between each slide also in miliseconds (1000 = 1 sec).
2. The slideshow module will use all the images in a particular directory which can be set using this field. Yes the Grafik slideshow will work the same. There is no limit to the number of images that can be displayed.

In most cases the default settings for the module will match that used in the demo of that same template.
