Because of the old version, I can;t get the parameters to be writeable to J51_Avenue.
I'm a novice, 1st time setting up Joomla and surprised I made it this far, only to be stopped by this:

The parameter file /templates/j51_avenue/params.ini is unwritable!

HELP! please, in easy explanations!

Hi juggernaut33

What version of Joomla are you using with the template? Note that our Avenue template is only compatible with Joomla 1.7 & 2.5 and not Joomla 1.5

Yes, i think that is the problem with the template... my version says 1.5.21
But i downloaded 2.5.6 and have the stable full package.. That is what I linked to my website
yet when I open /administrator I get 1.5.21

If you have a URL to your site we can tell you what version of Joomla you are using?

For details on upgrading your Joomla version may I suggest the following article.. http://docs.joomla.org/Migrating_from_Joomla_1.5_to_Joomla_2.5

I just don't know why I was starting from scratch with this new website; and I downloaded 2.5.6 and that is what I attached to my host and I got thru the whole process using that, but then when I open it, it is version 1.5.21...

Is it because I have another website with a different Joomla template using 1.5.21?

My other website is http://www.pittsburghdjcompany.com

Thanks for the link, I will check it out, but am such a novice at this stuff that I know it won't be easy.
(someone else setup my other website for me & I am trying this new one on my own with not much computer background)

Hi juggernaut33

Its difficult for us to say for sure as it wouldnt be a template issue but both links here are definately only running on Joomla 1.5. If its a new install I would suggest reinstalling Joomla in 2.5 rather trying to upgrade the 1.5 version on your site.

You can either delete the files via FTP access or through your host manager (cPanel, Plesk etc). The second option been the quicker of the 2.
