Hello,
I’ve installed the GridGallery in the Virtuoso template, and I’m trying to adjust the image size for mobile devices using the parameters in the module. I’m not sure if I’m doing something wrong, but I can’t seem to get it to work. When I change the settings and refresh the page, all images are still the same size as I uploaded them in. Could it be a glitch? Or have I misunderstood the use of those settings?

Hi Cami

I suspect the issue is related to the size of your images. For best results ensure that your images match the highest width set within your modules parameters.

Hi Ciarán,
Perhaps there's a minimum value? The images I have are rather small since they're thumbnails (103 pixels square) and I'd like them to be even smaller on mobile devices. They're uploaded in their original size, 103 pixels, and I've set the value to 80 pixels (tablets), and 50 pixels (phone). No matter which value smaller than 103 px that I change the parameters to, the images look the same.

Hi Cami

Would you have a URL to an example of your GridGallery module?

It's very much a test site so far, until I've figured out how best to structure it. I've got two GridGallery modules with different settings (under the "Test Gallery" tab). The one you see at the top of that page, is set to a standard 103px, with 80px for tablets and 50px for mobiles. If you click the first of the thumbnails, the second module will show underneath the article, where I've set the standard as 103px, but 50px for tablets and only 30px for mobiles.

I just realized why the sizes all look the same on my phone.. the resolution of my iPhone 6 exceeds 720px. I'm terribly sorry, it's my mistake! I guess there is no way of increasing that minimum value to 760px?

May I ask another question in this thread that I've been wondering? The social media icons in the template look rather blurred, while they're a lot crisper here on this site, despite being the same dimensions. Is it possible to use vector graphics?

I'm so sorry again for the trouble.

Hi Cami

Presuming I understand you correctly, you can edit this media query by locating the following in your modules default.php (../modules/mod_j51gridgallery/tmpl/default.php - approx. line 100)...

@media only screen and ( max-width: 767px ) {
.grid .j51gridgallery'.$j51_moduleid.' {width:'.$j51_image_width_mobl.'px;}
}

Edit 767px to your own taste.

Hi Ciarán,
I thought the screen resolution of the phone had to be less than 720px for it to be recognized as a mobile device, and that the responsive layout wouldn't be "activated" for any screen larger than 720px. But if that value is already set to 767, I should be able to see the responsive layout with my [750px screen] phone, right?
So I still seem to be doing something wrong, since all images in my GridGallery are 103px (when viewed on my phone), no matter which value I write into the module's responsive layout settings.

It's a bit confusing, this, I'm sorry for the trouble.

Thank you Cami

All should be now working ok for you. Updating your module to the latest download of the extension appears to have resolved the issue.
