I bought the Kinvara template and since I already have Joomla installed on my site, I would rather just use Joomla to upload the template. Joomla has a 8MB upload limit, so It doesn't allow me to use Extension: install to work. What is your suggestion? If we go that way, will the sample data still be available?

I didn't delete this post as others might be able to use the info. I finally realized that the template.zip itself was in a sub directory "Joomla! 3.x Install Files"

I then had Joomla > Extentions:install , install the template. The only thing that I haven't figured out is how to get/find the sample data.

I also uploaded the extensions that come with the template.

Ok, I finally figured out how to install the demo package as directed. However, it doesn't have the sample data. http://inspirationalpeakexperiences.com/Demo%20Installer/index.php I didn't any place to say use sample data.

Ok, Success!!! I reinstalled everything on another directory. You might ADD to the instructions that the choice of using the sample data is right at the top, so dummies like me would see it.

Other templates that I have used have some "upload" option to add sample data.

Until the next problem/question

I have been working with the template today. I hope there is a way to get the sample data installed, hopefully it will help me understand how to make the template do what I need to do.

One question on the container, I wanted to add a slideshow to the showcase. In the position options, you have Showcase by itself along with Showcase a-f. I assumed that choosing just showcase would use the entire thing. That isn't what happened in fact, I couldn't get any of the slideshow modules to work until I changed it to a-f. I used c assuming that it would center it, but that isn't the way it works.

Also, I hope that you update the instructions that go to your new modules. And update the free templates page.

I admit that I am new to Joomla. But, I have watched hours of videos on other templates and have been able to accomplish what I expected. I hope things that are confusing now will be slam dunk when it "clicks". I hope that you have time to create some videos using your templates and modules extensions.

Is there a way to adjust the height of the Hornav?

After more "looking": If you take a look http://williampitzer.net/isabel/index.php you will see that when you scroll down, the height of hornav changes size, your demo doesn't do that, what am I doing wrong?

Bear in mind, I'm just screwing around trying to learn.

Hi Bill

To set up an exact copy of the template demo I would suggest using the bundled 'Demo Installer'. This is basically an exact copy of Joomla with the template demo content included as sample data. For details on setting up the template demo installer may I suggest the following article...https://joomla51.com/tutorials/item/setting-up-the-demo-installer

The modules in each row (eg. showcase-#) auto size depending on the number of modules that are enabled. So for example if you have on module enabled in any of these positions the module will display in at 100% width, if you have 2 then 50% each and so on. The is some options in the Module Widths tab of your template settings which will allow you to override this auto width feature.

For the template demo we have disabled the 'sticky' header on scroll feature. You will find an option to do the same in the General -> Header Styling tab of your template settings.

To stop your header from resizing on scroll (when 'sticky') you can add the following to the Custom CSS field of your template settings...

.is-sticky .logo {
padding: 70px 30px 40px;
}
