Hello everyone,
I'd be interested to know how you're currently handling the future of your Joomla websites, since Joomla 51 is unfortunately no longer being developed.
What alternatives are you using? Are you planning to switch to a different template provider or even a different CMS?
Or have you found your own solutions to keep your existing sites running?
I'm eager to hear about your experiences and opinions.
Best regards,
Marcel
That's a very good question. I sure wish I hadn't paid Joomla51 as much money as I did in the past year, before I knew I wouldn't get anything new for it.

......For the rest of my sites, I have adapted Skylar to run under J6, even with the J6 compatibility plugin disabled...
How many files need to be changed or modified are we talking about here? (approximately)
I can't say exactly how many files there were, but it was quite a few lines of code that needed adjusting. It took me 1.5 to 2 hours per template. And it then works even without the BC plugin activated.
As long as the templates work under J6 and maybe even J7, I'll continue using them. Since I'm only concerned with the basic structure of the template anyway, I won't consider a new template developer or page builder for the time being. In most cases, and depending on the client's needs, I use the Emani template. We'll see what the future holds.
Best regards
Marcel
Hello Marcel,
if you have the templatesmade ready forJ6 maybe you can provide us with them? I,formypart, would be happy to pay for these Updates. Or for providing me with an example for the code part.
We made more than 100 websites with J51 templates.... and working with this j51 templates for round about 10 years now.
Kind regards
Oliver

Hi everyone,
Regarding the modified version: On one hand, I would be fine with distributing my version to other users. On the other hand, I don't want to undermine Joomla51's business (should Ciàran show up again over time). Therefore, I would give away my version of SKYLAR to everybody who can provide a proof that he/she purchased SKYLAR_J4 (i.e. by sending a screenshot of his/her purchase history from the Joomla51 site).
I think that's great!
Suggestion:
Perhaps you could start a new thread with the correct title for this template.
Since the private messaging system isn't working well here, it would be helpful if you could provide a contact address where people can write to you and provide proof of purchase.

just my two cents, I'm looking for SP Builder as well, but I will take a look at everything mentioned in this topic
(Yootheme, RSJoomla, Joomlaplates and now SP Builder).
I will compare cost and functionality...and I was even wondering if I should use Claude AI to have the whole website made for me..just let it search through the current site, and have it make the joomla 6 template or so...but somehow that feels wrong.

I have reworked SKYLAR_J4 again to work under J5 and J6 again. My version even runs with the J6 compatibility plugin disabled.
I run the template on five of my sites in production, up to now without any visible errors.
