I'm using the Substance template and I am trying to change the favicon.ico with no success. I have uploaded my new icon to the templates/J51_substance folder and have reset the cache. It does not load.

Any suggestions?

Hello

Would you have a URL to your site so I can see what faicon is loading for us?

With most browsers the favicon is not cleared when the cache is cleared meaning your favicon may be appearing as you wish within browsers that hasn't yet opened your site.

Thank you

I believe there could be an issue with the format of your ico as the browser does not appear to be able to open it (http://www.henryweaver.co.uk/templates/j51_substance/favicon.ico).

It should be possible to be able to open this file for example here.. http://www.joomla51.com/templates/j51_joomla51/favicon.ico

Ciarán, many thanks for your reply.

I just copied your favicon.ico via Filezilla FTP to /htdocs/templates/j51_substance on my website http://www.henryweaver.co.uk to check the formatting

I reset the cache on Safari but it hasn't loaded. Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

May I suggest trying to add your favicon.ico to the root of your Joomla installation instead however it appears your favicon.ico may be corrupt as the browser is unable to open it.
