Today I finally pushed through the challenge of learning to install the slideshow and other visual elements, starting with my Renovate site (morninglightmusic.org). It turned out so pretty, thanks for such a beautiful template. I did however observe a few issues I'm hoping you can help me with:

1) Disappearance of drop downs on mobile devices, on homepage displaying slideshow:: The drop downs still work well on regular computers - but on my iPad and ipHone the menu would not drop down - which is a major problem since those drop down items provide access to all the rest of the site. (For that reason, I'm not doing Responsive.) As an experiment, I unpublished the slideshow and tried it again - sure enough, the drawdowns worked fine without the slideshow; also even when the slideshow is published the drop downs work great on all portable devices.

2) Size of images for slideshow and background image in Renovate: First I tried sizing the to the sizes indicated in the template. (1100x395 for the slideshow.) This resulted in a thin little strip of image - not in the least resembling the sizing on the Renovate demo. So I experimented - ended up with 1200x800, set to 100% - this looked nice on the page. Is that OK, or do you see any problem with that sizing?

3) Similarly, I use one of my slideshow images also for my background in Renovate. I made a blank custom module in Bottom position to get the image to display there... Finally got it to work - it looks absolutely gorgeous on the 17" Macbook I built it on. (Again, used a 1200x800 version of the picture. However, on my other devices that bottom module shows up a strange size - just the very bottom of the image (grey) with . Is there a way to get this background txto

I hope you can help me resolve these issues, as I LOVE the template and how it displays this materials. Thanks - Carrie

Hi Carrie

Great to hear you are enjoying the template :)

1. This is most likely caused by a javascript conflict. Ensure that jQuery is turned off in your slideshows parameters as it is already loaded by Joomla. An option for this is available with the slideshow modules parameters.

2. This size would be perfect considering the height set for your slideshow.

3. Could you try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters where 300px is the height of this area of the template (edit to taste). Ensure to leave your Custom HTML module enabled!

#container_bottom_modules {
height: 300px;
overflow: hidden;
}

I just sent you an email with temporary admin access (along with access you requested on another Forum post for a different site) , because I tried the fixes you suggested here and nothing seemed to change. JQuery was already set to no (I tried both yes and no, without noticeable change); and the background image at the bottom (on iPhone or iPad) still displayed large, dark, and fuzzy (though absolutely beautiful on the laptop I built it on.) In looking into this further, I noticed that the same thing happens on your Renovate demo, when viewed on iPhone or iPad = the background image displays very large, pixelated, and fuzzy. This is a less serious concern than the menu not dropping down over the slideshow, but I really hope you can make some headway in resolving both these issues once you're in.

Again, the site is morninlightmusic.org. I really hope you can resolve this, as the menu and the slide show are two of the most important elements in my site.

Hmm... I don't think that last post was from Ciaran. Do we have a spammer on this Forum now?

Ciaran, I still need your help with this issue, as it affects core navigation on my new site - the slideshow seems to disrupt dropdown menu display on iPad and iPhone. I've sent you admin access but haven't heard back yet - other from this friendly gamer. Sigh...

Thank you Carrie

It appears there is an issue with the slideshow and parent menu links of the non responsive top menu. On certain devices the slideshows z-index is placed above the parent menu items causing them to be non responsive. We have amended this issue by adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters...

@media only screen and (max-width: 1024px) {
#slideshow {margin-top: 130px;}
}

Beautiful - that fix works perfectly. Thank you so much - that was the last major element needed to prepare this site for launch. I so appreciate your beautiful templates and incredible support! :)
