Hi ciaran,

1. what modules can be used to display dates as in this ariana example template?
2. How to hide this setting?

Hello

1. This area of the template demo is the core Joomla content component and can be replicated by navigating to Menus -> [YourMenu] -> Add new menu item. From the Menu item type field select Articles -> Category Blog - Alternative.

2. An option to disable the date field is in the Blog Layout tab of the above settings (Show Published Date Label).
