Hi Ciaran

Had to turn on error reporting for something else on a build and noticed this. I'm running the latest Nina release.

Many thanks,
Ali

Hi Ali

Thank you for reporting this issue. Could I ask you to try deleting your templates html folder (../templates/j51_nina/html) and then installing your template via your extensions manager. This will ensure that your html folder is correct. Issues can arise in this area if you have updated your template from Joomla 3.

Hi Ciaran

This is a quickstart install on J4 only. I have tried installing just the template via extensions mgr as well but had not removed the HTML folder to do it.

Ali

Also have the News module not working right but haven't filed a report on it. So tired of fighting bugs.

HI Alison

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine each of these issues. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Hi Ciaran

Not sure if this is a J issue or a Nina issue or a combo of both.

Adding Joomla Search to a couple pages on the site I'm working on. Go to add it to Breadcrumbs and Use Search Button Image "Search Button Image: Use an image as button. This image has to be named searchButton.gif and must be located in templates/*your template name*/images/." So I created my gif and named it correctly and put it in said directory. The image is showing as a broken link. Ok could still be a J bug but don't care for the background shading blocking the clarity of the search box so I move it to Showcase 1a since that is the next location I would like it in. Except it stays in Breadcrumbs. This is where I started wondering if it might be a template call related issue. Tried it in ContentTop position and it worked there but that isn't where I want it.

Thoughts? Happy to submit a bug report with Joomla if this is not template related.

Thanks again,
Ali

Hi Ali

On the search issue, my initial analyses would suggest that this may be an issue with Joomla. The template does not include an override for the search module so the core view is been used. The source for the image input is coming up empty. To confirm try enabling the default Joomla template (Cassiopeia) and see if the is also present.

I have added the following CSS to the Custom CSS field of your template style settings to improve the style of the search field when placed in a showcase module position. Feel free to remove/edit if not to your taste :)

.showcase-1 .search {margin: 5px;}
.showcase-1 .form-inline {display: flex;}
.showcase-1 .search-query {
margin-left: -2px;
border: 0;
border-radius: 0 3px 3px 0;
padding: 3px 5px;
}

I don't even care about the gif part. Thanks for taking the time to add that bit of code.

Switching to Cassiopea is not even a thing since the module positions are so different nothing much displays. (I did try it.)

Hi Ali

The issue is proving to the very strange. I have tried enabling the Cassiopeia template and applying your search module to one of its module positions with the same result. Within our own testing environment, the search image options works fine with both the Nina and Cassiopeia.

Could I ask you to try uploading the searchButton.gif to the ../media/templates/site/j51_nina/images folder and see if the issue persists? This issue may be related to the recent child templates feature. If this works then the label needs to be updated within Joomla core.
