Centre Text on Template

Hi I am using the Clarity template.

The text is on the left of the template, how do I centre the text so it's in the middle of the template.

I also have a slideshow which is set in the position 'showcase' but there is a large space underneath the slideshow. How can I minimize the space between the slideshow and the text.
