Hi Ciarán

A few days ago, I purchased the Chelsea template, installed it on my server, and updated it to Joomla 3.8. All went well, except that there appear to be some bugs in the FlexGallery module on the home page and the features page.

One bug is that, when I mouse over any of the images, the system generates an error message. See attached image files.

A second bug is that the front-end display has become "locked in" to 3 columns wide. Initially, I could change the number of columns through the back end, but now I cannot do so.

Any idea how to solve these problems?

Thanks in advance. Regards. tim

Update on Error Messages in J51_FlexGallery:

Second problem solved: I think I must have failed to properly clear the browser cache. . . .

But the problem with the error messages on mouse-over persists. If I delete all the text (title and caption) for a given image, the error message for that image disappears. But that is obviously not a satisfactory solution. Any ideas?

Bug Affects Affects Elvira Template, Too

The same problem (error message on image mouse-over) seems to occur in the Elvira template, as well as the Chelsea template. Any ideas? Anyone?

Hi Tim

May I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

Hi Ciaran

Thanks very much for your email.
Unfortunately, my Joomla website is installed on my localhost; so I cannot give you access to it.
In the meantime, there have been two further developments:

1. I managed to take a snapshot of the entire error message: see attached files.
2. I found the same problem with J51_FlexGallery in the Elvira template.

Incidentally, the “98” in the middle of the screen seems to be a line number in the error message. Although I have no idea why it appears as it does.
Please disregard the reported problem with the number of columns. That seems to have been my fault for not clearing the browser cache when I changed the number of columns.

Thanks and regards. tim

Hi Tim

Admittedly it is very difficult for us to troubleshoot this issue without access to your site. Some things you can try include...

1. Ensure you have the latest download of the module installed.

2. With the FlexGallery module ensure that you have no empty rows in the Images(s) tab which can sometimes throw such errors.

Still failing may I suggest getting back to us once your site is hosted and we will examine this issue further. In the meantime you can Error Reporting to Maximum in the Server tab of your Global Config.

Hi Ciarán

Thanks for the reply. I see your point about wanting to have access to my site. But maybe that is not so important in this case.

I just did a brand new, install of the Chelsea template that I purchased from you and downloaded a few days ago. The FlexGallery template is included in that package. Everything went well with the installation – no error messages and the Joomla installation folder was deleted. Then I opened the website on my localhost server (I am using WAMP 3.0.6), scrolled down the home page to the FlexGallery module (which is installed in the bottom-2a position in the Chelsea template), and moused over the images. The error messages are already there.

That is before I have made any changes to the website – not even opened the back-end at all.

Could you double-check the installation package and/or the FlexGallery module files and make sure everything is correct?

Thanks and regards. tim

Hi Tim

I have tried to replicate this error on a number of different system environments and have failed. I suspect the error is related to your localhost settings. If the issue persists once you upload to your host please get back to us and we will examine this issue further.

In the meantime you can disable error reporting in your Joomla Global Config.
