Hi

I am using the Elvira template (downloaded on 20/09/2017) with Joomla 3.8.0

I am missing my closing quote when I have blockquote in the code:

Example (This is the only code in the article):

test

Gives something that looks as in attached screenshot.

Any ideas?

Hi Ciaran,

Thanks for your reply.

It is a development site closed to public access as it is only just begun.
I have sent you an email with the URL/login

Thank you Suzanne

The single quote is actually by design however you can add a second quote to the bottom right of the blockquote by adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters..

blockquote::after {
color: #555;
content: "“";
font-family: sans-serif;
font-size: 88px;
position: absolute;
right: 0;
top: 100%;
}

Thank you for your reply Ciaran.

I wondered if it was deliberate design.

I tested the CSS that you suggested. Unfortunately it adds opening quotation marks at the end of the blockquote (screenshot attached). This matters because this site is that of an English teacher suggesting different methods of education. It makes him look like he does not know what he is teaching! Much of my work is with education sites so I will need this fix elsewhere too.

Any suggestions on how to get closing quotation marks at the end of the block quote?

Suzanne

Ah so it does. Could you try the following CSS instead..

blockquote::after {
bottom: 0;
color: #555;
content: "„";
font-family: sans-serif;
font-size: 88px;
position: absolute;
right: 0;
}
