I've updated joomla, updated BIANCA template and all included modules...

With the updated mod_j51news module it doesn't work anymore when using the carousel - all images are shown by default (not only 2 for example as set) and so no sliding is happening anymore - the pagination buttons below have now function anymore.

Something must be wrong with the newest mod_j51news module where you switched from owl to tiny script.

Can you please have a look please (bianca template).

Thanks

P.S.: When I install my backuped mod_j51news v3.0.8 (which still using owl) everything is working.

ok - i think I've found the problem...

The new mod_j51news module version is looking for the tiny css/js files in the /media/j51_assets folder - but NO tiny* files are in there...
When I copy it manually into the j51_assets folder it works but shouldn't these two files (tiny.. js and css) be copied when installing the new module?

P.S.: checked also /cms/media/mod_j51news/js... no tiny-slider.min.js in there... so the css/js files are missing in the media folder from your mod_j51news.zip file I think....

copied js+css from tiny-slider to the correct paths and now it's working - there are two little small 'miss placements' left

Hello

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. I have just updated the J51 News module bundled with the Bianca template to 3.0.10 which should resolve this issue.

The module will check the ../media/j51_assets folder first for a copy of its dependencies, in this case, the tiny slider CSS. If the required file(s) do not exist, it will load the dependencies from the ../media/j51_news folder instead.

Thanks - it looks like you placed to correct file(s) now into the Demoinstaller package.
Shouldn't the mod_j51news.zip file itself also be corrected so the tiny* files are also present in the (mod_j51news.zip)/media/* folder so they get copied to the correct ../media/j51_news folder when installing the mod_j51news.zip module? (when you don't use the demoinstaller package files)?

Hello

The module is set up so it should copy the contents of the JS and CSS folders to the media folder with the following XML statement fund in the templateDetails.xml...

<media destination="mod_j51news" folder="media">
<filename>index.html</filename>
<folder>css</folder>
<folder>js</folder>
</media>

Yes, I know - but have a look into "mod_j51news.zip" /media/js folder - there is NO tiny-slider* file there, same is the case for "mod_j51news.zip" /media/css folder.

The tiny-slider* files are there in "mod_j51news.zip" /js folder but not in "mod_j51news.zip" /media/js and so on.

Checked a few more zip packages for other modules - here there are also some missing js and/or css files missing in the /media/... folder sometimes (e.g. mod_j51numbers, ...)

Hello

I have just updated the News template for our Bianca template, removing the media folder completely as it is indeed misleading. On test the module is adding the dependencies without issue in the ../media/mod_j51news folder.

Could I ask to first delete your ../media/mod_j51news folder completely. Redownload your template and install the bundled mod_j51news module. After install check that the ../media/mod_j51news has been added?

If not, may I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

not yet fixed - sorry

1) you wrote in the changelog from mod_j51news

# Remove Owl carousel js/css

but the carousel js/css files are still there... but ok - that's 'cosmetic' ;)

2) now with deleted media folder in mod_j51news package - the tiny-slider css + js files are copied to the ../media/ folder correct!

BUT - there is sadly always a but in my posts here sorry :) - the default.php tmpl file still consists the owl-carousel class - this causes here the problem that the slider is totally hidden when used as carousel. (on the my site there is the main slideshow at top - which uses still owl-carousel I think - and the news module at bottom)

So what I did is delete marked code in default.php and then everything worked.

Thank you

This is indeed correct and possibly the crux of the original issue. That class would certainly negatively affect the module if the owl carousel dependencies are loaded alongside.

Thanks again and I will create a new release for this module with your fix the first chance I get.
