I have just updated a web site to Joomla 4. I purchased and installed the latest version of the Ashley template, which I used in v 3. I have two problems:

(1) The logo background of the web site should be white, but is black. I cannot find an option to change the logo background. How can I change this to white, which it was when I had the Ashley 3 version running on Joomla 3?

(2) I can't find an option for the creation of a layers slide show. How can I do this?

Help would be appreciated.

Hello Ray,

I have a similar problem. I can't access the page background via the template, e.g. to insert a background image. I also can't access the footer to adjust the font or the background color.

I solved the problem with the slideshow by creating a module with the j51_LayerSlideshow and setting it to the showcase position.

Greetings Uwe

Sincere apologies. In my first post I referred to the Ashley template, which is one of two templates I use. I had in fact installed the other template I use, which is the Hayley template, though the problems I referred to in my first post still apply when using the Hayley template.

There was a further problem using the Hayley template. Joomla was saying:

"We have detected that your server is using PHP 8.0.27 which is obsolete and no longer receives official security updates by its developers. The Joomla! Project recommends upgrading your site to PHP 8.1 or later which will receive security updates at least until 2024-11-25."

When I updated the PHP version in cPanel to 8.1, the front end of the web site was displaying various "Deprecated" messages on various pages. Here is one example:

"Deprecated: htmlspecialchars(): Passing null to parameter #1 ($string) of type string is deprecated in /home/lcpdovnn/public_html/templates/j51_hayley/html/layouts/chromes/mod_standard.php on line 18"

I have now changed to the Ashley template, upgraded the PHP to 8.1, and there are no longer any "Deprecated" messages.

Hello Ciaran,

I think the bold problem also exists with the serenity-template. I have now also used this one:

b, strong {
font-weight: 800;
}

in the custom.css. Is there possibly an update for the template?

thanks & greetings
