Greetings,

I just updated a Joomla 1.7 site to 2.5.8 and installed Arkadia to replace the previous template. Now, the main menu CATEGORY LIST menu items (disaster restoration and remodeling/construction) link only to the home page.

I tried deleting the old menu and replacing it with a new one, generating the links again individually. Same problem. Also, the drop-downs don't work, regardless of the settings in the Arkadia Template wysiwig menu, or the settings in the Menu Module.

It just occurred to me to test the menu using a default Joomla template and the links work fine there.

The host is bluehost. Php version 5.4.

YIKES!

Hi Hope

It appears your menu is falling behind the original logo div which is linked to your hompage. To amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters..
#header {position: relative;}
#logo {display: none;}
#container_spacer1 {height: 50px;}
The final line just gives you a little extra room for the 'We accept all major insurance.' text above your header.

Ciaran,
Thank you! The CSS didn't work, but I'm going to move the items you mention from the top to another module position, so it should solve the problem.
I should have thought of that!!

Hi Hope

I dont see the CSS loaded on your site. When adding the CSS manually it appears to be working fine on this end so no reason why it shouldn't. Ensure you have done a full refresh on your browser to load the new CSS (CTRL + F5).

I just checked the Custom CSS field in the Arkadia template wysiwig window, and it's showing the code I copied from your post.

I repositioned the top custom HTML module from breadcrumbs to top-3a. I've been clearing the cache and refreshing. I can't use the shortcut on my browser, but clearing the cache and refreshing usually works for me. Do you still NOT see the CSS loaded? I just added !important to each line.

OKAY! The modifications were being trumped by nexus.css. I modified nexus.css, disabling the height on these classes:
.logo_container, h1.logo, h1.logo a {
top: 45px;
/* [disabled]height:155px; */
text-align: left;
width: 430px;
}

That did it. I removed the code you gave me. Thank you for pointing me in the right direction.

Follow up question: If I update the template, do I need to remember to disable this line again? Do the CSS files need reordering for Arkadia?

Also, can you help me get the search function to float right?

The original CSS..
#header {position: relative;}
#logo {display: none;}
#container_spacer1 {height: 50px;}
.. is now loading correctly. If you have this issue again simply add this CSS to the Custom CSS field. You can also now move the Custom HTML module back to the breadcrumbs position if you wish.

Thank you very much! The next question is not urgent:

Is this now irrelevant?

As long as the display:none is added for the #logo div no more changes will have to be made to your CSS as the .logo_container is within this div.

Okay cool! So, when we modify the Custom CSS field in the Arkadia template, that information remains, even if we update Arkadia?

Hi Hope

Yes the Custom CSS will remain. Should be just a case of upgrading your template.
