Greetings, Ciarán,
I am building an Arkadia Joomla 3.2 site here: http://pamelasatsang.cloudaccess.net. I changed the overall layout width from 960 to 1080 and the footers became un-aligned. See screenshot. Any advice?
thanks,
Hope

Hi Hope

Would you have a URL to an example of this issue?

Sorry Hope .. not sure how I missed that

In your templates base.php (../templates/j51_arkadia/php/layouts/base.php) could you do a find and replace on the following...

class="container"

Replace with..

class="j51contain"

You should see to instances that have to be replaced (bootstrap class name conflict).

Yes, this worked. Thanks very much. a few questions:

1) Will an upgraded Arkadia version come out with that fix?
2) Will the menu issue on mobile devices be included in the upgrade?
3) In the meantime, can you help me get the mobile MENU link added to this site in the meantime?

Hi Hope

1. Yes this fixed has been applied to the latest download of the template.

2/3. Over the coming days we will be updating the mobile menu to match that of our more recent template releases (http://demo.joomla51.com/0109/). I will place a post here once this update is available.

That's great. I'll download the new version when it's out. I have customized the images on the template, and I will replace the new ones with my custom ones. Other than that, is there anything I should know about upgrading your templates?

We have just updated the Arkadia template to include the latest mobile menu.

That is pretty much it.. Presuming it is just the images you have changed simply backup your old template and then install the latest update via your Extensions Manager. You can then overwrite the images folder with that from your original.

Ciaran,
Oh this is great.
I just bought the new Arkadia.

I'm happy to copy images over into the new template. I'm a little confused about the rest of the process. Do I need to
[ul]
[li]backup and uninstall the old template[/li]
[li]install the new template[/li]
[li]copy the image files over [/li]
[li]re-enter all the template settings and colors[/li]
[li]If I need to re-enter all the template settings and colors, can I have leave the old template installed as a reference until I enter the new settings?[/li]
[/ul]

Hi Hope

Following are the steps to take to update your template while keeping your old templates settings..

1. Backup your template by downloading the template folder (../templates/j51_arkadia) via FTP however it is important to leave the template on your server!
2. Via your Extensions Manager install the template. This will replace all template files while keeping your template settings.
3. Upload the images folder from your backed up copy of your original template to ../templates/j51_arkadia/images

Hope this helps :)

Thanks, Ciarán!
I followed the steps and things looked whacky for a bit but it must have been a cache thing. Looks good now.
thanks,

Hi Hope

Could you try doing a full refresh on your browser as you may be loading some cached CSS. All looking fine on this end.

You nailed it.

I think that my browser window was not wide enough to display the menu properly. There is an issue with the responsive display, actually. Can you shrink your browser window slowly as you look at one of the site pages and see what happens to the menu?

thank again for your help.
