Hi Ciaran,

Adding content to a new J51Ariana site and the new news articles I am creating are opening in the index page, What do I need to do for these articles to open on in the Default template rather than the home page?

Hello

It sounds like the news articles that you are linking to do not have their own menu items, they, therefore, inherit the modules of the homepage. To resolve you will need to create a hidden menu and item for your articles. This will allow you to assign/un-assign the modules of your choice to these articles via the menu item.

A quick search on 'joomla hidden menu' will give you some further information if required.

Alternativley, you can send us temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will create the menu item for you. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

I am using the News module now in J51 Verona, and the same thing is happening, The New Module takes articles from 3 different categories but on click of READ MORE displays them on the home page.

I cannot see from the above HOW, we (YOU!!) fixed this

must every new article need a Hidden Menu Item on an ongoing basis?

Hi Patrick

Unfortunately in many cases Joomla does require a menu item for each article. A common work around is to install a 3rd party extension. Have you considered installing Advanced Module Manager (https://www.regularlabs.com/extensions/advancedmodulemanager - free) which will give you more control of your module menu assignment.
