Adding Module Position left of Search

I know about replacing the search in the Rendezvous template with a regular module position but is there a way to keep the search and place a module position to the left of the search box? I need to add a Virtuemart Login and Shopping Cart links.

You could try something like http://www.joomla51.com/forum/support/free-temp...w-module-position#54 which details how to add a module in the header area of your template however instead you would edit the templates header.php (../templates/j51_rendezvous/php/layout/header.php) and the CSS can be added to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters.
