Hi Ciaran

I'm using Nina on a build and am unable to use Articles/Images and Links/Full Article Image if I want it to appear on the right of my article. I thought this must be fixed by now and downloaded and installed the most recent release of the template. No joy.

This is really a basic function that should be in every template.

Thanks
Alison

Hi Alison

Joomla 4 has moved from static options of float left and right to an Image Class field. To float an image to the right, try using the following Bootstrap float right class in the Image Class field.

float-end

Hi Ciaran

Just changed your float end to flex end. Still NFG.

Thanks

Would you have a URL to the article in question?

Hey Ciaran

Sure do https://authenticme.ca/blog/you-can-tell-him-no

Hope it helps. The inconsistency through the templates on this drives me a bit batty.

Hi Alison

I get the following notice with the details provided.

Username and password do not match or you do not have an account yet.

On a side note, if you wish to simply float all article images to the right, may I suggest sending temporary administration access to your Joomla installation to info@joomla51.com and we will examine this issue further. For our reference please paste a link to this post in your email.

.item-page .item-image {
float: right;
padding-inline-start: 1rem;
}

Thank you for the updated details.

I have added float-end ms-4 to the article mentioned and it appears to now be displayed as requested. The additional ms-4 adds some extra spacing between the image and the article. Note I had to clear your cache for the change to be applied.

Hey Ciaran

Thanks so much. Just a little confused why this isn't standard in all the templates?

Cache cleaner is a thing I install straight up.

Thanks again :)

Hi Alison

This should work with all templates. In Joomla 3 you had a dropdown to set an article image to float left, float right or float none. Joomla 4 no longer has this option and instead allows the definition of a style class. This is a little less user friendly but more versatile as you are no longer restricted to just floating images.

Hey Ciaran

I guess I'm just wishing for consistency across all. "This is a little less user friendly" that is an understatement for the ages.

Thanks

Hi Alison

True. Note that this change is in Joomla and not the template.

Hey Ciaran

I just have found some templates work with said calls and others don't.

Seems they care less about the end user on far too many things. I have the luxury of asking for help here on things like this. End users don't or may just be not ask and be frustrated and leave J.

Thanks as always,
Alison
