Hello!

I would like to add a new module position on the top of my template (either for language flags/contact info etc). According to you, this tutorial works for 'Boutique' as well, https://www.joomla51.com/tutorials/item/creating-a-new-module-position-in-the-header-area-of-your-template.
But sadly it doesn't (there is no <div id ="header" class="block_holder">, in the header.php file).
Could you please provide us with a solution? Our purchase was based on this information.

Thank you in advance!

Hi

I was very excited to see the tutorial but I have the same issue with Elvira (although the tutorial says it applies to Elvira), no <div id ="header" class="block_holder">, no header.php file and no class="block_holder.

How do I add that extra module position?

Thanks!

Hi Suzanne

Instead locate the following line of code in your templates index.php (../templates/[YourTemplate]/index.php)..

<?php require("php/layouts/header.php"); ?>

Directly before this code paste the following..

<div id="newmodule"> <jdoc:include type="modules" name="newmodule" /> </div>

Hope this helps.

Hi Ciarán,

Sadly it did not work, when I type in the newmodule position in my new custom module and save it does not save that as the position, it just reverts to the label to select one, and no change on the front end.

I would really appreciate it if you would check the tutorial is correct for Elvira with the modification you gave above.

Thanks

Thanks for checking my site Ciarán,

For anyone else who is looking at the Elvira extra header module, the tutorial with the modification that Ciarán gave above works great!
