Hi, Ciaran
I am currently working on upgrading a site to Joomla 4. It used to run Ariana, unfortunately that's not available for J4, so I decided to use Nina instead. When I came to setting this here icons module, I saw two things that seem strange:
- setting the icon color does not really set the color of the FontAwesome icons, the module seems to use the color set as primary.
- Icon desriptions appear underscored, same as normal links would, looking ugly. I solved this by using

.j51_icons a:link {
text-decoration: none;
}

The module used to run perfectly on the same site when it would run Jooma 3.10. latest
The module claims the version number 2.0.14 when I last checked, this is the version being shipped with all newes J4 templates I have obtained. As the site is currently under development on ma machine, there's no link available.
Any suggestions?

Hello

May I ask what version of the template are you using? The latest is currently 1.0.5. If you haven't already, try updating to the latest version and see if the issue persists?

I am not a dev, but when I remove the marked part of mod_51icons/tmpl/default.php, I am able to set the icon colour
Screenshot 2022-01-14 093328.png

In the 'old' version (ariana) there used to be an if-clause to check if an icon color is set and only if not, it would use the primary, like

<?php if ($j51_icon_style !== 'none') { ?> background-primary<?php } ?> text-primary j51_icon_style_<?php echo $j51_icon_style; ?>

This is no longer there.

Hello

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. It appears the Bootstrap 5 loading with Joomla 4 uses !important for some of their utility classes which overrides the colors by the template settings. The idea of the text-primary class mentioned is added as a fallback if no color is set in the settings.

To resolve please install the attached update.

Thank you, Ciaran
I have installed the updated module, I gather that the version is now 2.0.17 - that's what the back end tells me. Unfortunatelly the problem with the colour of the icons has not gone away, whereas the underlined links are no longer a problem.

Hi Ciaran and thank you. I have created an admin account for you (details see email). I downloaded the latest Nina version and updated both the template and the module.
Thanks again, Chris
