The new Sophia version is not displaying the dropdown arrows in the main menu. The left and right arrows in the slideshow are not showing either. They are all just showing squares. I checked and all the font awesome options in the template manager under typography ( Load Font Awesome 5, Load Regular Icons, Load Solid Icons, Load Brand Icons) are all set to yes.

This is even happening in the template demo: https://www.joomla51.com/demo/0155/

You can see my site at https://bluedock3.com

I also attached a screenshot.

Looking forward to the fix.

That worked!!!

That is so awesome and I so appreciate you!

I would suggest adding that to your template demo because I cannot be the only one having this issue.

Thank you again, you are the best!

Hello

Checking both the template demo and your site, we are unable to replicate this issue. Could you try clearing your browser cache or doing a full refresh on your site (CTRL/CMD + F5) and see if that resolves the issue?

I have looked at my site and the demo site with all 3 major browsers; Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge.

I get the same results on all 3. I cleared my cache, did a full refresh and still the same.

I even rebooted my computer (Window 10) and my Spectrum Modem and still get the same results.

I also get the same results on my Android phone.

I also get the same results on another computer in my office. (Windows 7)

I'm in Buffalo, NY and I had a friend of mine in Nashville, TN check and he is getting the same results I am on his windows laptop with M-Edge.

Coincidentally, I have a site I made last year with Sophia (with the older version) and it works correctly.

Something is not right with this new version.

Strange. Even checking your site with numerous online screenshot tools, the icons are always displayed (https://www.site-shot.com/ / https://screenshot.guru/).

Does adding the following to the Custom Head Code field of your template settings help (Custom Code tab)?..

<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.15.1/css/all.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.15.1/css/v4-shims.css">

I agree, strange indeed.

I added the code you sent to the custom header section and that didn't work.

Interestingly enough, I looked at the screen capture tools you suggested and got the same results that I've been getting. I checked several other screenshot tools and they ALL produce the same results for me (no icons in the menu or the slideshow).

I have included screenshots for 3 screenshot tools (one that you provided)
- https://www.site-shot.com
- https://screenshots.cloud
- Google's Go Full Page Tool

I did these screenshots for both my site (bluedock3) and your demo site

I am not seeing the icons at all (only squares) and have now had 4 other people in different places verify what I'm seeing as well as the screenshot tools.

So I'm curious, what is different about this version and the older version. I still have the older one and could use it but I always try to use the most current because of crucial updates that just make the sites better for one reason or another.

As always, stellar support and much appreciated.

Very bizarre my friend.

Thank you for the update.

A bit of a shot in the dark but to amend try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters (Extensions -> Templates -> [YourTemplateStyle] -> Custom CSS)....

.hornav > ul .parent-indicator,
.layerslideshow .NextArrow,
.layerslideshow .PrevArrow {
font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Free";
font-weight: 900;
}
