Hello, Ciarán. I'm having a similar situation that others have had in the forums in getting the breadcrumbs customized. Two approaches, two different questions...

1) Moving the breadcrumbs down to one of the top modules. I need to adjust the background to fit in with the surroundings. For that I've used this code (adapated from your suggestion in another thread) in the Custom CSS but without success...

#container_breadcrumb {
background: url("/test3/templates/j51_arkadia/images/trans.png";) repeat-y 50% 0 ;
padding:bottom:0px;
}
For one thing, I'm not sure that's the right file to reference, and I'm also not sure if I'm referencing it correctly. (test3 is immediately underneath public_html).

2) If I put this in the breadcrumbs module (my preference), it takes up two rows and I'd rather it be just one.

Thanks very much for your help,

Daniel

Hi Daniel

To better understand your breadcrumbs issue would you have a URL to an example?

Hey Ciarán, I've got the breadcrumbs set up in three different modules, so you can see how each of them is behaving. Originally I wanted it in the breadcrumbs module at the top, but now I'm warming to having it at the top of sidebar-b.

The main issue I'm having with the one in the sidebar is that the words are jammed together with no separator, even though there -is- a '/' in the separator field...

(If we can take care of the sidebar version I'll let go of figuring out the other ones...)

Thanks again!

You can try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your templates parameters. This should go a long way in styling your breadcrumbs in any of the module positions outside of the 'breadcrumb' module position.
.module ul.breadcrumb a {display: inline;}
