For some reason, when I bold something in an article in Grafik, it doesn't show as bold. I've tried several different fonts, and have the same result. It shows bold clearly on the backend, in the article display there, but not on the front end where it matters more. Examples:

http://counselinglibrary.org/wellness/stress-management/too-busy-how-to-fix-it
(The first phrase after each numbered item on the bottom of the article are supposed to be bold - but don't appear to be. For example, the phrases "1-Rethink Your Priorities" and "2-Trim Away the Non-Essentials" should stand out as bold, but they just blend into the rest of the text.)

http://counselinglibrary.org/healing/depression/practical-steps-to-healing/2-understand-causes
(No bolding is visible on this page - yet it is clearly visible in the back end where it was formatted, and in the source article where it came from, on the old Joomla 1.5 site I'm replacing with this new site.) For example, the opening sentences of paragraphs one and three should display in bold ("No two depressions are alike." "Depressions then, even within the same individual, are as unique as snowflakes.";) See the same article on the old site, to see the bolding show up clearly: http://morninglightcounseling.org/2-understand-causes.

How can I get the bold to display properly in Grafik?

Hi Carrie

May I ask what browser are you using as we have checked these pages in both Chrome and FIrefox and your bold text appears to be showing correctly

Strange. I'm on Safari and Chrome, on a MacBook Pro. And yeah, no bolding. I checked the same pages in Beez and Protostar, and they're crystal clear, very strong bolding. Back to Grafik and it's gone.

That is very strange. Checking in Safari gives us the same results with the bold elements appearing fine. Could I ask you to try clearing your browser cache? Would you have any other machine you can test this on?

I just checked my iPhone, and also my husband's. On both devices , the bolding displays in safari just fine. Like your tests. ???

I just lost internet on my MacBook , and am away from my other computers. When I have internet again I'll clear the cache and let you know the result. I'll also check other computers when I'm with them agaiin.

Glad to know the problem for now seems isolated to just my machine. Thanks for all your generous responses to all my questions today. Over the past 3 weeks I've rebuilt 5 sites with your templates. Text all input, fine tuning that now, before adding slideshow etc. thanks for all your help!

In programming last night, I found that when I created articles in Chrome, including bolding in the text, and saved them, the bolding did not appear - either in Safari or Chrome, on any of my devices. Yet if I opened that same article in Safari and put the bolding in, it then displayed on Safari, on all my devices (though still not in Chrome.)

So now I'm wondering if my particular installation of Chrome has got a bug of some kind. Do you think it would be worth uninstalling it, and then try reinstalling it again? Or, any other suggestions on this? I really want to have Chrome working as well as Safari on this MacBook - largely to check appearance of my new sites in both browsers. Your thoughts?

Hi Carrie

It is very hard for me to say as it is an issue I haven't come across before. I do know that your browser will not effect how your articles are saved. It may be worth trying a different Joomla editor maybe? I notice that your bold text is placed within <s-trong> tags rather than <b-> tags (ignore the - ). Maybe changing this might help?
