A client has requested that I add a tiktok icon with her other social media icons. I found the Custom Icon form on the social media section of the template. I know that the font awesome name is tiktok (fa-tiktok) but I'm not sure how to fill out the form. Do I have to use code to add a newer Font Awesome version to the template? I found tiktok in Font Awesome 6. Thank you so much.

Thank you for the update. You can also try.

#socialmedia .fa::before {
font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Brands" !important;
}

Hello, Ciaran,

it did not work. Since I currently have other construction sites, I have put further research on the problem on the back burner for the time being. But the page is still open and you can see the result.

Thanks TD

You can try adding the following to the Custom CSS field of your template settings. Note however that this will only work for brand icons which would be the most likely social icon...

#socialmedia .fa {
font-family: "Font Awesome 5 Brands";
}

Hi Ciaran,

in my (real)homepage, I switched back to the included font awesome version.

But I created an exact template copy for you to check the issue: http://www.heimatverbesserer.de/icon-test

I switched-on all Social Media links and created a new one (coffee cup). As you can see, from the build in icons, only RSS is working as intended.

In the menue, for "icon test (2)" I used the class "fa-facebook". Which doesn't show up as well. I also tried class "fab fa-facebook" and "fa-facebook-f". Both without any effect.

So, some food for thought. ;)

Cheers, TD

Hi Torsten

Would you have a URL to an example of this issue?

Hi Ciaran,

thank you for this hint. I tried and it worked for the menue items, where I could use some new fa-classes. But in parallel I lost some of the social media icons (at least facebook & instagram, I did not try all).

Im using the skylar template.

Hello

By default, the Ashley template uses Font Awesome so you will need to update to at least Font Awesome 5 which includes the TikTok icon.

To update to FA5...

1. Disable Font Awesome in the General -> Typography tab of your template settings.

2. Add the following to the Custom Code -> Head Custom Code field...

<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.15.1/css/all.css">
<link rel="stylesheet" href="https://use.fontawesome.com/releases/v5.15.1/css/v4-shims.css">
